The HGTV 2010 Dream Home winner will be announce on March 15, 2010. Many are anxiously awaiting to find out who won. This year’s dream home is in beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico.This is the lucky winner recieves, the dream home, a vehicle and $500,000 cash. Not to shabby eh?
What would you do if your were the winner? Keep it as a second home? Make the “dream home” your permanent residense? Or sell it? There’s pros and cons to each decision. If you can afford it, Santa Fe is a fabulous place to live, great getaway destination. Many can choose to use the dream home as a vacation getaway. You could rent the home out as vacation rental. A real estate or vacation rental company could schedule rental periods, for a fee. But there’s the expense of the upkeep, taxes ect. Again, Santa Fe is a beautiful place to live, permanently, but not everyone can land a job there. Nor does everyone want to pick up and leave friends and family.Last of all, I think the most practical decision for most is to sell the home.
